Homeschool Advocate Explains Homeschool Act

Aziza Butler, a homeschool advocate and former Chicago Public Schools teacher, testified in committee against the Homeschool Act (HB 2827) earlier this month. In a recent letter to the Chicago Tribune she explains how this legislation will harm not only homeschool students, but every student across Illinois.

“I’ve gotten to know Aziza Butler through her advocacy against the Homeschool Act,” said Rep. Amy Elik, Republican Spokesperson for the House Education Policy Committee. “Her voice has been so important in our fight against this bill. I stand with the tens of thousands of Illinois families in fighting AGAINST the Homeschool Act!”
