Rep. Amy Elik Celebrates “Freight Week” with Logistics Tour

“Freight Week,” is held each year in and around St. Louis. This year’s event highlighted infrastructure, improvements and trends impacting global freight movement, and reinforced how the region continues to strengthen its position as a world-class logistics hub.

“I am always so fascinated by tours like these, and I am so proud of the significant rail, river and road assets we have in the 111th District,” said Rep. Elik. ” I even got to discuss some legislation I have worked on related to permanently moored barges, while standing on a permanently moored barge! It was a great day and I learned so much!”

Local leaders toured the terminals at America’s Central Port, and the Mel Price Lock & Dam, and got to ride on one of Ingram Barge’s vessels as leaders in supply chain and logistics showed them the importance our region plays in keeping things moving across the country.
