National Memorial of Military Ascent Opens in Grafton

State Representative Amy Elik attended the ribbon cutting of the new National Memorial of Military Ascent in Grafton.

“What an honor to be with some WWII Veterans, who remember D-Day and the story of the heroic Rangers who landed at Pointe du Hoc in France and climbed the cliffs to save our country and the people of Europe,” said Elik. “Many were lost and injured that day, but all will be remembered at this beautiful new national memorial. This idea was the vision of Grafton Mayor Mike Morrow and his wife Lynne, and then came to fruition today with the financial support and volunteerism of countless others. What an honor to be here today. What an honor to meet so many Veterans, who have given their dedicated service to our country over the decades. There is much more to come for this site, but I hope you will go see it soon.”

The ceremony took place on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. For more information, visit this link.
