I joined law enforcement officers and families from across Illinois to honor our fallen police officers during a solemn remembrance ceremony at the Capitol. This tribute recognizes the bravery, service, and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the line of duty while serving and protecting our communities. It was a privilege to stand with their loved ones and fellow officers as we paid respect to these heroes.
Along with others, this year’s historic honorees included two former Madison County Sheriff’s Officers: Constable Isom Gillham, E.O.W. 12-11-1852, and Deputy Lindley Larrison, E.O.W. 1-15-1925.
We will never forget their service. May God bless our fallen officers, their families, and all who continue to protect and serve.
