Alton, IL – State Representative Amy Elik (R-Alton) was named an Americans for Prosperity – Illinois (AFP–IL) 2025 Prairie State Policy Champion. AFP-IL cited her work leading opposition to the Homeschool Act as a determining factor in their decision to award Elik.
“I am honored to be recognized for my efforts to rein in government spending, ease Illinois’ state tax burden, and protect homeschoolers and empower educational choice in Illinois,” said Rep. Amy Elik. “I have always stood firm against government overreach and wasteful mandates. I’m going to keep up the fight to make Illinois a better, more prosperous state.”
AFP-Illinois State Director Jason Heffley highlighted Elik’s leadership in the Capitol.
“Illinois needs more principled leaders like Rep. Elik in Springfield fighting for Illinois taxpayers and reining in out-of-control government spending,” said Director Jason Heffley. “Rep. Elik has consistently prioritized fiscal responsibility over special interests, while also leading on AFP-supported legislation in the Capitol. From defending homeschoolers to easing Illinois’ state tax burden, Rep. Elik is a conservative, commonsense leader and AFP-Illinois will help educate constituents on her dedication and service to the Land of Lincoln.”
