Rep. Elik Pleased after Flag Vote Results Released

The Secretary of State announced the results of a statewide vote on Illinois’ next flag. The options included the current flag and 9 others, with the current flag coming in first by over 130,000 votes, an overwhelming favorite with the second-choice design receive only 32,898 votes.

State Representative Amy Elik says she’s pleased with the results and grateful for everyone who voted to keep the current flag.

“By an overwhelming margin, the people have spoken and want to keep our current state flag. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote to keep our flag! Our state has much bigger problems than picking a new flag right now.
