Last week the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site in Hartford held their annual Education Day. Senator Erica Harriss and I visited and got to see hundreds of school kids having a great time and learning so much. We met President Thomas Jefferson, who spoke with the kids about how education is the most important thing a free nation can offer its citizens.
Then on Monday, President Jefferson visited the state Capitol and even dropped in on one of our leadership meetings. He very much enjoyed visiting Illinois and spoke at several events in Southern IL during his time here.
