Governor Proposes Tax Increases, Cuts to State Programs

Despite our warnings, Illinois Democrats used one-time federal aid from the pandemic to justify long-term spending on pet projects and the expansion of state programs.

Now that pandemic funds have (predictably) dried up, the Governor is pushing tax increases, and he’s threatening cuts to state programs to try to get his way.
